My daughter Kendyl was just diagnosed in november with jia at her 5 year well care appt.It was a real shock especially being a nurse and having a better understanding of the disease then some. She has been complaining that her knees and feet hurt for about a year now.I always wondered why she complained so often and approached it with our doctor who said it was growing pains.she has it in both of her knees, ankles ,a few fingers and she is always complaing about her feet especially the heels radiating up the back of her legs and behind her knees. The doctors have classified her with jia enthestits as well as poly. She had taken prednisone and was weaned off of it for the second time while waiting for the methotrexate to work. She takes the pills instead of the shots. Are the shots more effective? We are scheduled for joint injections in 2 weeks.

My daughter's rheumatologist said the mtx shots are much more effective than the pills. More is absorbed and you get less of the nausea and stomach issues. My daughter has been on the methotrexate injections since November, when she was diagnosed.
