Hi I have a 12 year daughter. She was first diagnosed when she was in 2nd grade in 2010. She was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and was put on Enbrel and it was very effective within a year she was taken off Enbrel and was symptom free. Fast forward 4 years and here we are again only now it is in other joints. She first time it was only in her fingers and toes. This time she was having shooting pain down her thigh and couldn't walk or run without pain. We had an MRI and we saw that it was in her SI joint. Her specialist didn't feel that Enbrel would be effective so we started Humira back in January of this year. What a horrible experience. She hated the injection and it was very painful for her. Every two weeks she would fall apart because of the anticipation of the injection. She was on Humira for 2 months and during that time even more joints became involved. It was now in her fingers, toes, wrists, ankles, feet, knees and both SI joints. The doctor has changed her medicine again. She has had two doses of Remicade Infusions along with a steroid infusion. She is no longer complaining of pain but we are not sure if it is because of the high dose of steroids she has received or the Remicade. After getting a second opinion we have added Methotrexate. She has had 3 injections so far. She is feeling better and we see the specialists in 2 weeks to see if we can get off the steroids. I am feeling overwhelmed at this point since it seems to be much more intense this time than 4 years ago. I am hoping to find others that can understand how I feel.
